Orion BMS 2 Purchasing Guide
A distributed-capable lithium battery management system for EV and energy-storage packs. Answer a few questions and we'll build the exact kit you need - the Fellten kit already includes the current sensor and every wiring harness, so there's nothing to double-order.
Build your system
Start with your pack. We'll pick the right kit, size the current sensor, and add only what isn't already in the kit.
Tell us about your pack
Cells in series (count cell-tap positions - you may need to size up for mid-pack fuses, disconnects or high-impedance busbars).
Choose your components
Everything sold separately - untick anything you already have. The main unit is order-only (not sold online individually); components link to the shop.
Size the current sensor
Most BMS features depend on it (it's included in the kit). Enter your peak pack current - we leave headroom for transients.
Cell-tap harness length
Pre-assembled gold-plated tap harnesses are included. 12 ft reaches further (e.g. front-of-vehicle runs).
Setup & install essentials
Not in the kit. The CANdapter is required to program the BMS; the tap tool protects you during install.
Optional add-ons
Displays, logging, remote monitoring and extra thermistors.
Junior kit - size the current sensor
The Orion BMS 2 Junior covers up to 16 cells and includes a current sensor. Pick its range.
Essentials & add-ons
This build needs a quote
- Up to 2 remote cell-tap modules extend the system to 324 cells / 800 V, or split the pack across locations.
- Remotes don't need their own current sensor or a CAN interface.
- Important: the main unit must be factory-ordered with remote-module support - it isn't a standard shelf SKU, so Fellten will configure and quote it for you.
What's in the kit
Every Fellten Orion 2 kit is a complete bundle - you don't need to add harnesses, a sensor or thermistors separately.
